About the project

About
ZPrize is a competition that invites blockchain developers, entrepreneurs, and innovators to submit ideas/projects, aiming to identify and support work that positively impacts society and the blockchain industry.

Problem
The brand needed to communicate “impact + authority” clearly to a technical Web3 audience—without feeling generic—so the visual system (especially typography and messaging) had to do more of the heavy lifting.

Key decisions and why

  • Went beyond “obvious” type choices by exploring weights/widths inside selected typefaces to find sharper, more distinctive combinations.

  • Made typography the primary brand lever to capture attention and convey ZPrize’s ideals with confidence and clarity.

  • Used punchy, direct messaging to reinforce the brand’s values and land the mission fast with the target audience.

Outcome
A stronger brand communication system where typography and messaging consistently signal impact, authority, and mission—built to resonate with the intended audience.
