About
ZPrize is a competition that invites blockchain developers, entrepreneurs, and innovators to submit ideas/projects, aiming to identify and support work that positively impacts society and the blockchain industry.
Problem
The brand needed to communicate “impact + authority” clearly to a technical Web3 audience—without feeling generic—so the visual system (especially typography and messaging) had to do more of the heavy lifting.
Key decisions and why
Went beyond “obvious” type choices by exploring weights/widths inside selected typefaces to find sharper, more distinctive combinations.
Made typography the primary brand lever to capture attention and convey ZPrize’s ideals with confidence and clarity.
Used punchy, direct messaging to reinforce the brand’s values and land the mission fast with the target audience.
Outcome
A stronger brand communication system where typography and messaging consistently signal impact, authority, and mission—built to resonate with the intended audience.
